UNNECESSHAIRY

Hair is generally something that is acknowledged as filthy and unwished-for in unexpected places. Everyone has hair and generally doesn’t think theirs is dirty. Neither are wool or fur clothes. So the aversion really lies in the unexpected.

Through this project I made that unexpectedness, overly expected for myself. No longer startled by the fact that something suddenly appears, but rather enjoy the moment when it does. Although this can be a uncomfortably disgusting kind of experience, it can still be enjoyed. It only remains disturbing if you make up a story around it. An identity to the hair from whom and where it may have come from. You can fantasize about this, but without thorough research you will not find out it’s origin.

Avoid linking an identity to a temporary experience, that way you can experience such events and/or sights much more freely.
